Wow, how many miles? What year? And what state is this in? Also, are they made out of paper?

Sounds like typical VW ownership

86 GL is currently getting new CV axles, so yeah, sounds right

66,000 miles, 2012, Missouri. Eh, not really.

Which is exactly why I paid for the extended warranty.

I recently had my car at the dealer for 2+ months. I'd had intermittent starting issues and nobody could figure it out for three years. I finally broke down and went to the dealer. After two months, and after initially replacing the comfort control module (hoping that was the fix), they had a super tech take it home. He replaced the clutch relay and another minor part and the 99 GTI is better than ever.

Fair enough. That just feels early for control arms and CV’s to me (but California).

My boyfriend has a ‘96 Camry that has been the utmost reliable vehicle. But it’s also so soul crushingly boring he begs me to drive the GTI. Win some, lose some.

All joking aside i like the GTI styling. Its modern but not over the top like most stuff now

It's a weird thing, VW ownership. I'm annoyed it was in the shop so long, but I want more of them.

Yikes. It took a month?! Were parts on super-double-secret backorder?

I totally get this. My wife’s 2004 Beetle is a pain in the ass, but a MkVII GTI is at the top of my list for my next car.

Between delays from the warranty company, the tech being backed up then going on vacation, and waiting for parts it ended up taking a while.

I test drove an '18 GTI for giggles and now I want one to replace my '12 eventually.
